Determines how AI agents authenticate when connecting to the MCP Server.

      AI agents authenticate with an API Client using the client credentials flow. The MCP Server exposes every configured tool. Use this mode for machine-to-machine scenarios.

    • COMMERCETOOLS_IDENTITY

      Users sign in with an Identity account, the same account that is used for the Merchant Center. The MCP Server exposes only the configured tools that the Merchant Center permissions of the user who signs in allow. Use this mode for human-in-the-loop scenarios.
